Fruit porridge - Breakfast in a glass

Start your day with a healthy, nutritious and delicious breakfast

Porridge (also called oatmeal) is a nutritious and healthy dish that is usually served for breakfast. Typically, oats are boiled in milk or water but this fruit porridge is made in advance by combining yogurt, oats, seeds and different flavors and refrigerated overnight therefore no cooking is involved.
This allows you not only to save time in the morning but also the oats absorb the liquid and flavor of the other ingredients resulting a smooth and delicious dish. Top your ready made porridge with almonds, apple slices and strawberries for an extra boost of antioxidants and crunch.

Oats are loaded in dietary fiber (containing more than any other grain) thus helping in cholesterol removal from the digestive system. Furthermore, the antioxidant compounds unique to oats, called avenanthramides reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease. They also contain manganese, selenium, phosphorus, fiber, magnesium, zinc and are also rich in carotenoids, tocols (Vitamin E) and flavonoids. As you can see, there are many health benefits associated with oatmeal and by adding it to your meal plan, you will be able to take full advantage of its nutritional properties.
