When looking for kale, always choose firm, deeply colored leaves with hardy stems. Select smaller, more tender leaves over large, courser ones.
I love preparing smoothies in the morning because they are nutritious and full of the energy needed for the day. Also, they are ready in less than five minutes and good on the go as well. In this kale smoothie recipe, I also used apples and bananas because they help cut the bitter taste of kale. And because I love coconut milk I add it to the recipe. This is optional, you can definitely use water or other type of milk instead.

- 4 kale leaves
- 2 apples, peeled and cored
- 2 frozen bananas, chopped
- 250 ml (1 cup) coconut milk (swap with water, almond milk etc.)
- Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend, on high speed, until smooth.
- Pour into two high glasses and serve.
Tips and Tricks:
- You can prep and blend your smoothie the night before and store in the refrigerator using an airtight lid to limit the oxidation and keep fresh.
